DRBF-SL Panel Discussion – May
The second Panel Discussion of DRBF-SL was held on 04th March at No. 01, 4th Lane, Nawala, Sri Lanka. The discussion on identified topics at the first event continued. Mr. Nadun Fernando spoke about Rules of Interpretation. Mr. Eddie de Zylva added comments with his wider experience in dispute resolution. Discussions extended to other interesting issues in ADR and the DAB’s current status in Sri Lanka.
Since there are more issues to be discussed, and these were critical for proper practice, it was decided to continue the Panel Discussion in coming months.
DRBF-SL Panel Discussion - April
A Panel Discussion organized by DRBF-SL will be held on 6th April 2010 at 2.00 p.m. at 23/1, 5th Lane, Nawala. All members note that attendance in this discussion is compulsory for a member to be qualified to act as a dispute resolver. After the training the trained members will be introduced to the industry as suitable dispute resolvers in the construction industry. You are invited to bring alone any literature on the given topics.

DRBF-SL Inaugural Meeting
The inaugural meeting of the DRBF Sri Lanka was held on 20th January 2010 at 23/1, 5th Lane, Nawala. Twelve members attended the meeting and the meeting was chaired by Mr. Tilak P. Kolonne, the country representative of DRBF. Other members who took part are Mr. K. K. Ranathunga, Mr. M.R.L.S.B. Ratnayake, Mr. Nadun Fernando, Mr. C.P.K. Geeganage, Mr. Duleesha Wijesiri, Miss. N.M.N.W.K. Nissanka, Mr.K.N.B. Amarasooriya, Mr. K.K. Sandun, Miss. M. Buddini Peiris, Miss. M.B. Samurdhi Nissansala, and Mr. Nuwan Paranavithana.
Mr. Kolonne noted that there was a need to establish dispute resolution centres in Colombo and in other provinces to enable anyone in construction industry to seek assistance. In order to facilitate this, an agent amongst the members of DRBF-SL to be appointed. Members identified the need for more accessible training avenues for DAB and DRB.
